I built the support I couldn't find.

Lumen began in a Cheshire dining room, when its founder, Charlotte (me!) was working from home and struggling through my 5th attempt at egg freezing at the same time. The journey up until that point had been hard in many ways — not only emotionally, but also practically in finding the information I needed. There simply wasn't a place to go to find all of the information that would have been so helpful to me as I was navigating life changing decisions following a not so promising fertility test result.

Since my egg freezing journey, I have discovered I entered perimenopause at the age of 38, which has unlocked a whole new fertility journey phase.

I knew I wanted the experience for women going through this process in future to be different. Whether single, in a relationship, looking to have a baby, looking to give yourself options in the future, or exploring not having biological children, I wanted Lumen to be everyone's home and a safe place to connect with women going through similar journeys.

I started the community for the UK only, and all of the clinical data Lumen presents is HFEA registered. All of the supplement and fitness suggestions are from accredited partner providers.
